Tottenham Hotspur have been offered a number of players in this transfer window.

In Jose Mourinho’s first window in charge of the club, there are a number of issues that Spurs need to address.

Harry Kane is injured, as is Moussa Sissoko, while there are clear gaps in midfield and defence. In addition to bringing players in, they are attempting to shift players, too, and it is turning into a hectic month for a club that rarely actually does any business at the turn of the year.

Prior to the signing of Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica, they last signed a player in January in 2018 when Lucas Moura arrived and the MansionBet Bonus Code 2020 was a thing of the distant future.

Speaking to sources within the club throughout the month has brought up new names almost every day, with agents consistently attempting to place players in north London.

The month began with an outrageous link to Wilfried Zaha, the Crystal Palace star who is reportedly valued at over £80m. Pini Zahavi, the agent who helped to broker Mourinho’s move to the club, informed those within Spurs that he could make the deal happen if they were interested. Contact with Palace swiftly established that he was out of their price range in this window but Zaha remains keen on the possibility of moving to a club with ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League and it is a move that could be revisited in the summer.

Then there was Kane’s injury, which has led to an influx of offers of players who are capable of playing as strikers. Krzysztof Piatek, the AC Milan striker, was watched before the January window and offered to the club earlier this month.

Spurs are interested in the striker but talks with Milan have reached something of an impasse; chairman Daniel Levy initially wanted to bring him in on loan but the Italian club would like to sell him. It remains a possibility that a deal could be done but a compromise will have to be reached.

Ze Luis, the Porto striker, has been offered as a potential signing too, as has Fernando Llorente, despite him leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer. Paco Alcacer, the Borussia Dortmund man, was another option explored. The former, FFC has been told, is seen as a last resort in case attempts to bring in another striker this month fail.

There has been an attempt to try to bring Bruno Fernandes into the club, too, from Sporting CP, and he would cost around €60m (£51.2m), but Manchester United are, per sources, offering a “massive” package to both the player and his agent. It is unlikely Spurs will be able to beat their Premier League rivals to the punch, despite trying to find a creative way to seal the transfer; sending Juan Foyth to Portugal in exchange has been floated as a possibility.

There is hope, too, from Mourinho that he will be able to sign a centre-back and Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti has been offered to the club, a possibility that is still being mulled over, while Juventus defensive midfielder Emre Can has been touted as a potential acquisition, too.

The fact that all of these players are foreign, however, could lead to issues with the homegrown quota, particularly in the Champions League, and attempts are subsequently being made to shift out the deadwood.

Christian Eriksen, of course, is likely to join Inter Milan – Spurs sources have described that deal as a “priority” this month – while Victor Wanyama and Foyth – if he is not included in the prospective Fernandes transfer – are also available. Real Betis are interested in the centre-back.

Michel Vorm, too, could be released, despite being re-signed earlier this season to provide cover in goal.

It adds up to an intriguing winter window; Spurs have thus far only signed Gedson Fernandes but they are unlikely to stop there.

They could have a roundly different squad come February 1st.
