Leeds United did a great job of moving on a lot of their deadwood in the summer as they managed to shift the likes of Yosuke Ideguchi, Vurnon Anita and Hadi Sacko on permanent deals.
However, in true Leeds fashion, their summer firesale has somehow come back to bite them. One man they got rid of is now being coveted by two big European sides.
What’s the story then?
If we told you that Caleb Ekuban was wanted by both Rangers and Lazio you’d probably find it hard to believe after he scored just one goal in 20 league appearances for Leeds, but according to Fotospor that is the case.

Not only are Rangers and Lazio apparently in for him, they’re supposedly being quoted a €10m (£8.8m) fee for the Ghanaian.
So how on earth have we got to this point?
The striker has actually been in good form this season, scoring eight and assisting eight in all competitions, and it seems as though Leeds made the wrong call with this one.
Acted too soon
It feels like Leeds were too quick to write Ekuban off.
Ok, he scored just once during his time at Elland Road, but there were plenty of underperformers before Marcelo Bielsa arrived.
Look at Mateusz Klich, he was shipped out on loan back to the Netherlands after just six months at the club, but he’s started every single league game since Bielsa walked through the doors.
We can only wonder what Ekuban would have turned out like if he had been given a proper opportunity to play under the Argentine.
The fact that he’s now valued at £8.8m shows that we didn’t see the best of him in Yorkshire and the club quite simply were too quick to let him go.
In other news, Leeds’ chances of landing this loanee on a permanent deal may have just taken a hit.
