Bayern Munich made the decision to part ways with Tuchel in February after it was all but confirmed that Bayer Leverkusen would run away with the Bundesliga title, meaning that the Bavarians would lose the league title for the first time since 2013. Rangnick has emerged as a surprise option for them after Xabi Alonso remained their favourite candidate until the Spaniard confirmed his decision to stay put with Die Werkself.
WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN?
The Bavarians will hope to settle their affairs soon as the new manager will influence the club's transfer policy for the upcoming summer. Meanwhile, Tuchel and company will look to win the Champions League as they take on Real Madrid in the semi-final on April 30 and May 8.
