He had featured off the bench in all three group games against Costa Rica, Paraguay and Colombia but failed to make much impact in any. Overall, Brazil as a team severely underwhelmed, only beating Paraguay and scoring just once across the 270 minutes of the Costa Rica, Colombia and Uruguay clashes.
